She Could’ve Tap Danced Her Way Through

This past week on General Hospital (Jan 12–16, 2026) was dense and emotionally loaded, with the trial at the center of almost everything. It wasn’t just about testimony or a verdict — it was about pressure, limited choices, and how far people were willing to go to protect the people they love.

Most of our conversation kept circling back to Alexis, because once Trina and Kai told her they were at Drew’s the night he was shot, her role in the trial shifted completely. She didn’t doubt them — she immediately understood what that knowledge could cost them. From checking the phone records herself to confiding in Diane, Alexis was operating with full awareness of the legal limits she was boxed into. Her conversation with Sonny made that even clearer. He was upset that the defense was pointing blame toward Michael and didn’t believe Willow was capable of shooting Drew, but when Alexis asked him what if Willow had done it, he didn’t rush to judgment. He understood the moral gray area she was being forced to stand in.

In court, that tension never really let up. The defense focused on reasonable doubt while redirecting suspicion, and even after the verdict, it didn’t feel like everything settled cleanly. Dante seemed uneasy with how much was left unresolved, and Chase’s role stayed complicated — especially once he acknowledged that Drew was trespassing and that he himself was suspended, making his authority in that moment anything but straightforward.

Outside the courtroom, things escalated quickly at the Quartermaine house. Tracy pushing to reclaim her family’s belongings brought old history back to the surface, Ned finally said out loud that Drew walked away while he was having a heart attack, and Drew showing up in person sent everything sideways. Olivia pulling a rifle on Drew and telling him she was ready to finish what someone else had started immediately changed the tone of the room. Chase backing that moment by pointing out Drew was trespassing only underscored how out of control things had gotten. Tracy’s reaction afterward made it clear she didn’t miss what Olivia did for her. Laura later brought Tracy and Martin together and forced a truce, more concerned with stopping the damage before it spread further through the family.

Molly and Cody’s story moved forward in a way that felt very true to both of them. After Molly confided in Kristina about hooking up with Cody, she realized she hadn’t actually given Cody the clarity he deserved. Going back to him, apologizing, and asking to be his girlfriend wasn’t dramatic — it was awkward, earnest, and very Molly. We talked about how the scene worked because the show remembered how little dating experience she’s had outside of TJ, and because Cody didn’t rush her or try to define things for her. He listened, accepted what she was offering, and let it be enough for now.

On the spy side of the canvas, Anna’s situation became even more unsettling as more of the mechanics around her isolation were revealed. We watched her try to escape, only to end up weak enough to need a blood transfusion. The language manipulation, staged interactions, and deliberate confusion all pointed to something carefully planned. Then there was the cigar — clearly placed to taunt her and leave both Anna and the audience questioning whether Faison is actually alive or if she’s being pushed to believe he is. At the same time, Valentin and Carly continued their plan from different angles, each taking risks that could easily unravel. Brennan’s interaction with Cullum only added to the uncertainty around who actually has the full picture.

We also spent some time on Britt and Jason’s date. The axe-throwing itself was fun, but the bigger conversation came from Carly’s concern that Britt may be sliding back into old Britt. Jason didn’t stay quiet about everything, though. He pointed out that he doesn’t like Carly dating Brennan, but he’s chosen to keep his mouth shut. Britt pulls Joss aside and asks for help managing Carly, with the not-so-subtle reminder that she could always mention Joss being in the WSB. Brad’s concern earlier in the week sat underneath it all, especially given how often Jason puts everything else ahead of the people closest to him. It wasn’t dramatic, but it didn’t feel meaningless either.

And then there were the smaller details that sent us off on tangents — because of course there were. We noticed the new downtown courthouse exterior as a clear transition into a different Port Charles setting. A throwaway line about being “on the sticks” during a video game conversation turned into a discussion about how certain phrases never really leave the language. An art reference tied to Spoon Island led to a quick real-world rabbit hole. We also spent time talking through the difference between proving innocence and arguing reasonable doubt, because that distinction mattered a lot this week.

Port Charles Pipeline: We covered some cast news this week, including Jon Lindstrom appearing in the opening credits of Beyond the Gates and why his long history with General Hospital makes that less alarming than it might sound at first. We also talked about Carolyn Hennessy’s real-life injury, how her absence lined up off-screen, and how the show has now incorporated that into Diane’s return. We also read a listener email that laid out the theory that Drew might be Shiloh, which sparked a lot of discussion.
