C is for Cullum and that’s NOT good enough for me

This was a heavy week on General Hospital, airing Monday, January 19 through Friday, January 23, 2026, and it’s kind of wild how much there was to talk about for a four-day stretch. We saw the celebration at Drew’s house fall apart, Drew collapse and end up hospitalized, Chase demoted, Michael spiraling over what everyone thinks he did, Anna’s mental state deteriorating, and several long-standing relationships shifting under the pressure.

The week picked up with Willow, Drew, Nina, and Chase heading back to Drew’s house to celebrate. Willow poured champagne, Scout came out asking what was going on, and there was that slightly awkward moment where she asked about celebrating too. Nina was excited and ready to stay, Chase stopped by with flowers, and it all had that uneasy “this should be happy, but it isn’t” feeling. Then Drew turned Nina away, telling her flat out that she wasn’t staying. Chase followed soon after, clearly sensing something was off.

Once Nina and Chase were gone, Willow and Drew were alone. They toasted, she got close to him, and then Willow stabbed him in the neck with a syringe. She repeated the exact words Drew had said the night he was shot, standing in front of her photo — and that was the moment Drew finally realized Willow had been the one who shot him.

At the hospital, Drew was brought in with stroke symptoms and Willow stayed in control, playing distraught while disposing of the syringe and explaining Drew’s condition in a way that raised eyebrows. Nina started clocking how strange the timing was, especially as Willow seemed to know exactly what kind of stroke Drew was having and what his prognosis might be. Alexis, meanwhile, was trying to balance her suspicion with relief that Scout was safe and could stay with her.

Trina and Kai pointed out that even though Willow avoided prison, she’s now stuck in the situation she created, being stuck with Drew.

Michael struggled all week with the fallout. He was frustrated that it felt like Sonny believed he could have shot Drew, even though Sonny kept insisting he would protect him no matter what. Michael’s anger didn’t stay contained and it spilled over when Michael and Chase ended up in a physical fight at the Quartermaine house. Jason stepped in to break it up. Shortly after, Chase learned that Internal Affairs had demoted him back to patrol. We spent time talking about how frustrating that was, especially when compared to Nathan returning after being presumed dead for seven years without having to re-earn his position, while Chase now has to retest and start over.

Tracy kept proving she is focused on showing up for her family. She offered to be Jason’s alibi if needed, fully prepared to protect Monica’s son, only to learn Jason hadn’t done anything. Later she gave Chase blunt, practical advice, steering him back toward Brooklyn instead of inserting herself into the situation.

Britt deliberately picked fights with Carly and pushed Jason away, clearly trying to end things by forcing him to choose. Jason refused to play along, and Carly — surprisingly calm — recognized that Britt was acting out for a reason, even if she didn’t know what it was yet. Meanwhile, Rocco began his community service at the hospital, putting him directly in Britt’s orbit, which only added tension given Cullum’s interest in him.

Anna’s situation grew more disturbing as the week went on. She heard Faison’s voice — and we learned it was actually Anders Hove — and later was “visited” by Peter, who we’re assuming is a hallucination, though nothing is confirmed yet. Anna kept insisting to herself that none of it was real.

Emma, meanwhile, went looking for Mac and couldn’t find him. Instead, she ended up talking to Nathan, which felt dangerous given what we suspect about him. Gio stayed by Emma’s side the entire time, trying to support her and help her process what was happening, and his quiet steadiness really stood out.

Elizabeth and Laura shared a meaningful scene where Elizabeth checked in on Laura now that Kevin and Ace are gone. They talked about how people had been making sure Laura wasn’t alone, and Laura acknowledged how much that support mattered.

We also talked through the brief Anthony Geary tribute that aired during the week. It was short, appeared suddenly, and was easy to miss, which made it confusing while watching. Learning afterward that a full tribute episode is planned helped explain why that moment felt incomplete.

Port Charles Pipeline

This week’s Pipeline featured emails from Melanie and Cheri. Melanie wrote in with thoughtful reflections on several storylines, including her enjoyment of Tracy bringing cocktail hour back to the Quartermaine mansion and how that moment felt like a nod to the show’s history. She shared her thoughts on Emma and Gio as a couple, wanting to see more of Mac on screen, and agreed that Trina being pulled into her parents’ marriage feels like too much for her character. Melanie also sent in her own predictions and hopes for where stories might head in 2026, touching on Willow, Nathan, and future family dynamics. Cheri wrote in after spotting a General Hospital reference while watching Baby Daddy, which sent us down a fun rabbit hole and uncovered a real crossover involving Kelly Monaco.
