Axeidental Date

This week on General Hospital, February 16 through 20, centered on Maxie processing Nathan being alive, the fallout from the key investigation, Kristina’s manuscript decision catching up to her, Sidwell stepping into new territory, and a full episode devoted to remembering Luke Spencer.

The week began with Felicia explaining that not only is Nathan alive, but Britt is alive too. Maxie immediately asked whether that could mean Faison is alive. Felicia insisted that was not the case, but Maxie clearly connected the possibility. She also admitted she was afraid to fall asleep because she worried she would not wake up again after the coma.

At the hospital, Liesl ran into Nathan and told him Maxie was awake. During that conversation, Nathan said the only reason he would consider trying to make things work with Maxie again would be if that was what James wanted.

Later at the Brown Dog, Spinelli struggled with what Nathan’s return means for him. Jason reminded him that Maxie loves him and that he should not count himself out. Liesl then joined Spinelli, acknowledged that he kept Maxie’s family together while Nathan was gone, but made it clear that Nathan was back now.

Chase first mentioned checking Michael’s key ring at the PCPD, raising the question of whether it had ever actually been verified. The situation escalated back at the Quartermaine mansion, where Tracy told Chase to quit accusing Michael of shooting Drew. Shortly after, Nathan arrived with the warrant to collect Michael’s keys. Michael handed them over without hesitation, saying he had nothing to hide, and Chase looked visibly surprised at how calmly he complied. The lab later confirmed that one of the keys matched Drew’s door.

Ric called Michael and told him not to say anything further. Earlier, Wiley mentioned the keys Uncle Chase had, which only complicated things further. Michael said he felt like he was being set up. Turner advised Dante to separate himself from the case, explaining that she was doing the same because they knew Michael did not shoot Drew.

At the hospital, Willow resigned from her nursing job. Later, when Liz mentioned long-term care facilities for Drew, Willow said she needed to see this through with him.

Valentine’s Day scenes took place at an axe-throwing venue. Ric brought Elizabeth there for their date, despite her being dressed for something more formal. Jacinda and Michael were also there, spending the holiday together.

Cody joined a book club and was reading Pride and Prejudice, talking about how characters develop over time and how early chapters do not define the ending. Kristina later tried to give the manuscript directly to Cody, encouraging him to finish reading, but he refused unless Molly asked him to or it was published.

Sidwell met with Willow and suggested she step into Drew’s congressional duties, noting that spouses sometimes take over. Nina immediately began outlining how she could help Willow the way she supported Drew. At the same time, Laura suggested to Alexis that she consider running for the seat. Alexis acknowledged her past openly, including being disbarred and her alcoholism, and emphasized that she has been honest about it.

Pascal warned Sidwell that Lucas overheard Marco and could be a liability. Sidwell responded that if Lucas became a problem, he would console his son at Lucas’s funeral. Lucas later told Carly she had been right about Marco working for his father. Marco claimed he was risking everything to be with Lucas and would cut ties with his father once the project was finished. We questioned whether that fully addressed what Lucas overheard.

Luke Spencer Memorial

Friday was devoted entirely to Luke Spencer.

It started with Lulu finding that photo of her dad after she spilled her bag. She took it to Tracy, and Tracy immediately realized Lulu never really got to grieve Luke because she was in a coma when he died.

They went to All Saints and lit a candle, but both of them said it didn’t feel right. So they went to the Brown Dog instead. It was closed, and Tracy paid so they could be alone in there. They ordered rum and scotch and toasted Luke.

We mentioned the Haunted Star poker chips showing up around town. Carly had one, and others appeared by the end of the episode. That detail connected everyone.

Liz told Laura that Aiden had gotten his driver’s license and was obsessed with cars, which made Laura think of Luke. Laura later reflected on him at the church.

By the end, Sonny, Laura, Carly, Liz, Tracy, and Lulu were all connected through remembering Luke. They went to the pier, released lanterns, and toasted him with straight whiskey.

Lulu saw Luke walking through the fog with his duffel bag, echoing his original exit. She said, “See you later, Dad.”

The episode focused on Lulu finally getting the chance to grieve her father.
