Alexis Davis Part 1: 1996 - 1997

Alexis Davis came to Port Charles in September 1996 as Stefan Cassadine's cousin and attorney, and within a few weeks she was representing half the town. Her first client was Kevin Collins, whose job at General Hospital was on the line after his breakdown. Stefan introduced himself to Kevin as the one who had hired her, which confused Kevin, since the two of them barely knew each other. Alexis eventually brought Kevin a settlement offer from the hospital. In the meantime, she hired him as a psychological consultant on her next case.
That case was Monica Quartermaine. Dr. Pierce Dorman had filed a sexual harassment suit against her after their affair ended. Kevin sat Monica down and had her go through the affair in detail so they could build a profile on Dorman. Alexis got a restraining order and served Pierce with it herself.
In court, Alexis got Dorman to contradict himself on cross. Then he said he had pitied "lonely, disfigured Monica," and Alan punched him in front of the judge. That cost Alan $1,000 for contempt. Dorman's lawyer followed it up with a surprise witness. Ned Ashton took the stand, said he had given Monica tennis lessons at Green Meadows Spa, and admitted the two of them had an affair. Lois walked into the courtroom right as he said it. When Monica testified, she ended up telling the court she wished Dorman was dead.
While all of that was going on, Alexis was keeping a bigger secret at Wyndemere. Katherine Bell was shot on Spoon Island. Nikolas was sure Luke Spencer did it. Stefan told Alexis the truth. He had found the gun Lucky threw into the woods after Laura's funeral, planned to use it to frame Luke, and shot Katherine by accident. From then on, Alexis kept telling Stefan to stay away from Katherine. He was married to Bobbie at the time, and he still disappeared for an afternoon to drive around with Katherine in a convertible.
Ned and Alexis started out drinking together at the Port Charles Grill and complaining about the holidays. By 1997 they were dating. He sang to her at the Outback, and when she gave him a tour of Wyndemere, he mentioned he used to own the place.
Alexis wanted Katherine gone. She took Katherine's keys out of her coat, searched her apartment, got caught, and apologized. Then she met a man named Leo at a diner, handed Stefan an envelope of old family photos, and brought up his father Mikkos Cassadine's mistress Kristin and the baby girl, Natasha, who was believed to have died with her. Not long after that, Stefan started to wonder whether Katherine was his half sister.
Shannon and Amanda follow it all the way to the end of 1997, including what Stefan finds out, why Luke flew to Stockholm, and who was waiting for Alexis in her hotel room.
