Valentin Cassadine Part 2
October 2018 - October 2021

A Daughter Made to Order
Valentin ends the last chapter having tracked down Nina's biological daughter, a woman named Sasha Gilmore, and waiting on a second DNA test before he tells Nina any of it. That test comes back a match. So did the first one. Neither should have.
Valentin had swabbed Madeline's body at her own funeral and used the DNA to manufacture the results himself. Sasha wasn't Nina's daughter. She never was. Valentin knew it from the beginning, and so, eventually, did Sasha, who stayed in Port Charles playing a role she'd started to actually feel guilty about. Liesl figured it out watching him at the casket and used it as leverage for over a year, threatening exposure while Valentin scrambled to keep Nina from ever finding out.
It fell apart at the altar. Lulu stood up during the wedding vows and told the entire church the truth. Nina ran. Valentin packed passports and cash, ready to flee to Greece with Charlotte, and when Nina showed up at Wyndemere instead of letting him go, he told her everything: the drinking, the search, the lawyer who'd handed him a name he genuinely believed was real. She stayed.
Not a Cassadine
While all of that played out, Nikolas Cassadine had been alive the whole time, hiding inside Wyndemere's own walls, working toward a codicil that would prove Valentin was never Mikkos's son at all, just Helena's child from an affair. He revealed it at Valentin and Nina's New Year's Eve wedding, seconds after pulling an unconscious Ava out of the water Valentin had just pushed her into.
The DNA test confirmed it in February. Valentin opened the envelope, read it, and said only, "I'm a lie." He spent that same night talking to a hallucination of his dead mother, who walked him calmly through the entire deception before he threw a glass at her and stormed out.
An Empire Built on Someone Else's Name
Losing the Cassadine name sent Valentin somewhere new. He spent the next several months quietly buying up ELQ shares, one Quartermaine at a time, using Nelle's desperation, Brook Lynn's recording contract, and Sam's parole officer as leverage. By August 2020 he'd assembled enough shares and proxies to install himself as ELQ's CEO, pushing Michael out entirely.
The Sister Who Wasn't Anna
That same fall, Anna's twin sister Alex resurfaced, furious over Valentin's role in exposing Peter August. She drugged him in Anna's own home and held a knife to his throat before Anna freed them both and the two barely escaped a gas explosion Alex had rigged. Alex was later presumed dead after a shootout on the Haunted Star. In the middle of it all, Anna told Valentin something neither of them expected: Alex, not Anna, was actually Peter's biological mother.
A Best Man's Confession
Valentin had known Peter since he was a boy and had spent years protecting him. That protection ended at Nathan's grave, where Peter confessed everything: framing Liesl, hiring a hitman, sabotaging Drew's plane, holding him prisoner for years. Valentin and Anna tried to stop the wedding quietly, staging Peter's disappearance to spare Maxie the truth. It didn't work. Liesl crashed the ceremony with proof of Peter's real parentage, and Valentin stood up in front of everyone and told them the rest himself. Franco was dead within days, killed by Peter in a hospital stairwell.
A Daughter That Wasn't His Either
Right after the wedding collapsed, Brook Lynn told Valentin she was pregnant. He moved into the Quartermaine mansion and doted on the baby, known publicly as Bailey, completely unaware she was actually Louise, Maxie and Peter's real daughter, hidden away to keep her safe.
Nixon Falls and a Cell in Crete
Valentin and Anna spent the rest of the year chasing Peter together, growing closer with every trip, until a distress call from Nina, hiding in a town called Nixon Falls, sent them racing after Peter again. He escaped by jumping into a river. The trail eventually led to Crete, where Valentin was kidnapped from a taverna the same night he and Anna finally admitted what they felt for each other. He woke up in a cell belonging to a man named Victor Cassadine, who told him flatly that he, not some anonymous stranger, was Valentin's real father.
