Grab a glass of wine (or an electrolyte drink) and settle in, because this episode of Port Charles 411 looked a little different. Instead of one guest, Shannon and Amanda hosted a fan roundtable, complete with pizza, pajamas, and three General Hospital listeners jumping into a conversation that covered decades of Port Charles history.
Louise has been watching General Hospital since she was a kid in the 1960s, back when soaps ran thirty minutes and her afternoons included All My Children, One Life to Live, Dark Shadows, and Ryan's Hope alongside GH. She remembers the Audrey, Steve, and Jesse era and still keeps track of storylines that trace back decades, from Audrey's history to the Buchanan family over on One Life to Live. Louise found Pier 54 while looking for something to listen to during a busy workday, typed in a search, and landed on the podcast. She went back to the very first episode and binged straight through.
Holly Durdel is no stranger to Pier 54. She was one of the podcast's very first Fan Spotlight guests back in 2022, and she came back for the roundtable with a topic ready to go: how often characters on General Hospital are holding a drink. She also shared a story about her college roommate landing a small role on the show and working alongside Genie Francis.
Maria joined from the West Coast and brought fresh details from a General Hospital fan convention she had just attended for the first time, including run-ins with several cast members and a peek behind the curtain at how those events work. She has been watching General Hospital since the late 1980s or early 1990s, when her sister first got her hooked during a summer with nothing else to do.
