Mafia for Dummies

Port Charles had a full week. A car accident left us with more questions than answers, Ric Lansing continued to make us nervous, and a reveal about Britt and Cassius added another layer to an already complicated situation. Here is what went down April 6 through April 10, 2026.

Can Ric Be Trusted?

Sonny and Ric went to the chapel to face Sidwell directly. Sonny looked him in the eye and told him plainly he had nothing to do with Marco's death. If Sidwell goes after the wrong person, Marco's actual killer walks free. Ric backed him up, pointing out that Sonny wouldn't inflict that kind of gratuitous cruelty on Sidwell knowing full well he could put him in prison. The brutality of

Marco's murder was exactly the reason it wasn't Sonny.

Later in the week, Ric and Sonny had a quieter conversation that ended on a note that was hard to read. Ric was saying things like "I just don't want to lose you" and "family means something." On paper, that sounds like a brother. In the context of everything Ric has done historically, and everything he now knows, including Laura's involvement with Sidwell's blackmail, it sounds like something else.

Danny came to Sonny this week, angry about Jason. Sonny sat him down and explained how things work, what Amanda called Mafia for Dummies. By the end of it, both Sonny and Ric agreed that Alexis needed to know what was going on with Danny. Sonny told Ric he could be the one to break that news to her. Ric asked about hazard pay.

The Crash

Curtis and Jordan were out for a date night and in a moment of romance leaned in toward each other for a kiss, eyes off the road. When they looked up, another car was coming straight at them. The crash put Jordan unconscious and bleeding in the passenger seat. Curtis could smell gas and saw sparks coming from under the hood. His phone was broken in the crash. He found it on the ground outside but couldn't use it.

He was about to pull Jordan through the broken window when headlights appeared. He ran toward the car for help and came face to face with Valentin. Carly had been with Valentin when Charlotte called from Danny's phone asking for her dad, saying there was car trouble. Carly insisted on driving. She dropped Valentin at the scene of Curtis and Jordan's accident and went ahead to find the kids. Valentin helped Curtis get Jordan out of the car just before it exploded. He called 911, and when he heard the ambulance coming, he took off into the woods.

Carly found Charlotte and Danny further down the road with their car crashed. Charlotte told her Danny had been driving. Carly got them out of there and back home, then called Corinthos Towing, get the car, fix it, clean it, bring it back, and don't take Route 91.

Curtis later spoke with Chase at the hospital and did not mention that anyone had helped him at the scene.

Several people were on the road that night. Brook Lynn had finished a glass of wine before rushing out after Dante called to tell her Gio was performing at Charlie's. Danny was behind the wheel of an unfamiliar car at sixteen. Isaiah had just settled into the cabin with Portia when Lulu called asking him to come over quietly, without telling anyone why. He got up and drove to her. When he arrived, he treated Rocco for what turned out to be a staph infection and kept urging Lulu to take him to the ER instead, hesitating in a way that was hard to ignore.

Charlie's Reopens

Charlie's had its grand reopening this week. Gio performed, and the moment where he talked about how the way Brook Lynn and Dante looked at him while he played was the way his mother used to look at him, and that he never thought anyone would look at him that way again, was one of the best scenes of the week.

Trina sang while Gio accompanied her. During the night, Joss found a moment with Emma and, in the middle of everything going on around them, asked about Anna. She shared everything she had found at Spoon Island and what it might mean about Faison. It was a kind gesture toward Emma and clearly came from wanting to include her and keep her in the loop about her grandmother, though it was not exactly a private setting for that kind of conversation.

Jacinda had asked Gio to accompany her for her performance. When the show came back, her performance was already over and we had missed it entirely. Everyone around her was raving about how incredible she was, but not a single note made it to air. Amanda informed us that the actress, Paige Herschell, can actually sing, and Shannon went down a rabbit hole and found her band, San Lyon, a jazz swing quartet. Go look them up.

The Cassius Situation

We learned this week that Britt already knew she had been dealing with Cassius and not Nathan. What the week brought was a much more dangerous moment. Cassius brought her to Wyndemere and presented her directly to Sidwell. Sidwell was not interested in her apology and ordered Cassius to kill her, blaming her for Marco's death. His theory was that she and Jason were running and took Marco down on the way out. Britt started to tell him the truth about Cullum, but Cassius stopped her. He smoothed things over with Sidwell, pointing out that police evidence disputed his theory. Britt pleaded with Sidwell not to kill her, and Sidwell ultimately held off, noting that she was lucky Cullum survived since he was the one providing her medication. Britt told Sidwell she would do whatever he needed, including finishing her father's project.

She is being held in place from every direction.

Valentin Tells Carly How He Feels, Then Brennan Shows Up

Valentin came back to Carly's and told her directly that he hated watching her with Brennan, that things between them had escalated, and that he had feelings for her that changed everything. He told her he didn't come by honesty easily, but she made him want to be. Just as she asked what else he wanted to say, the doorbell rang.

Valentin slipped out the back as Brennan arrived. Brennan told Carly that Jason was being held in Jakarta in a facility similar to Steinmauer, and that he had hacked into a WSB server to get that information, risking ending up in a cell next to Jason. He poured his heart out, telling her he loved her and wanted a future with her. Carly pushed back, telling him he and the WSB had taken people she loved. She also brought up Vaughn, who has not been mentioned in a while. Brennan pointed out that she has always found a way to look past what Sonny and Jason do, and asked why she couldn't find that same space for him.

Carly told Brennan he had information that only he could give her. She glanced at the back door before kissing him and taking him upstairs. Valentin came back inside, poured himself a drink, started toward the stairs, then pulled his hoodie over his head and walked out.

Nina, meanwhile, finally turned the tables on Brennan. Amanda pointed out that Nina had been sitting on leverage the whole time. If he leaks the footage of her, Carly is going to find out he has been holding it for months. Nina had that card from the beginning and is only now playing it.

Quick Notes

Molly got the galley copy of her book this week. Cody joked that if she had written about everything that bothered her about him, she should have way more than one book. They are a bright spot right now.

Willow gave Drew a full update on her one month of accomplishments in Congress while filling his syringe, prescription price caps, education reform, all of it. Drew's eyes remain the only part of him that can respond. Nina came by and actually acknowledged his presence in the room, which has not always been the case. She also held her ground with Willow, refusing to give up anything on Charlotte.

Aunt Stella showed up at Portia's office with donuts and a pitch to get the whole family together to decorate the baby's nursery. Portia agreed after some convincing. When Portia told Isaiah, he flipped out, asking whether the house was even really hers at this point and going on from there. Portia had also looped in Trina, Kai, and Curtis, which did not help Isaiah's reaction any.

The Kristina and Jacinda scenes this week had us raising our eyebrows. Kristina has been talking about Blaze a lot lately, and then the camera kept cutting to her looking at Jacinda in ways that did not read as simply being happy for Michael. There was a romantic undercurrent that the show seemed to be leaning into. We are not sure where they are going with it, but our hope is that it means Blaze is coming back. Kristina clearly is not over her, and bringing Blaze back now would make a lot more sense than going anywhere near Jacinda.

Coming Up on the Port Charles 411

Thursday we are re-releasing our episode on The Secret Life of Damien Spinelli from August 2020. Last week's Diane episode ended right where Diane had just finished writing that book, so we want everyone to have the full context before we come back with part two. If you have not heard the Spinelli episode yet, now is the time.

Port Charles Pipeline

Cheri wrote in with a theory about Nathan and Cassius. Her read is that Liesl paid a doctor to discreetly deliver her baby and hand it off to her sister, and when the doctor realized there were two babies, he contacted Faison to sell him the second one. The doctor got paid twice and neither parent ever knew about the twins. Shannon threw in the idea that the doctor could have been Sidwell himself, the same one who delivered Nina's twins, and that connection made the whole theory even more interesting.

We also had a follow-up email about Liz and Ric that we had to cut short because it contained spoilers. You know the rules. If it has not happened on screen, we do not want to know. Feel free to rewrite and send it in without the spoilers. We especially want to know why the listener does not want Amanda to cringe, and Amanda very much wants to know that too.

Reality Check

Amanda was sick all week and apologizes for the voice. Madeline had her final mandatory cheer practices this week with tryouts this weekend.

Shannon and her daughter made an impromptu trip to New York City on a Thursday to see Matthew Morrison in Just in Time. The tickets were only slightly more than what they paid for rush seats back in August, they got aisle seats this time, and the cast came through during the show. Pizza after, drive home the next day. Shannon recommends it if you have a chance to get there before it closes.
