Willow and Nina Part 3

2024- June 2026

This is Part 3 of the Nina Reeves and Willow Tait story, and it is the one where everything they built comes apart. The SEC secret came out on New Year's Eve at the Savoy, and it came out the worst possible way. Willow and Nina had just shared a quiet moment at Crimson, picking out a dress for the party. Nina handed Willow a necklace to go with it. Willow said she knew she could count on her. Nina's voice cracked. She told Willow they had been robbed of so many things. Prom pictures. Brushing her hair before school. Helping pick out her wedding dress. They hugged and walked out together and into the Savoy and heard Michael shouting at Sonny that it had been Nina who tipped off the SEC. Nina was standing a few feet away, frozen. Willow stepped back and told her not to come near her.

Sonny had Nina's bags packed when she came home that night and slammed the door in her face. Drew fired her from Crimson and replaced her with Carly. Nina walked in, found them there, and slow-clapped. She asked if they were finally even. Then she stood alone in a Metro Court bathroom, stared at herself in the mirror, and said that if Carly and Drew wanted a war, they had one. Diane served her divorce papers not long after.

Nina eventually went back to Crimson in a working arrangement with Drew that started as an argument about whether he would appoint her to Aurora's board and ended with her grabbing his arm to stop him from walking out. His shirt ripped. He asked if there was something else she wanted. She said she had not said no. He kicked the door shut. Nina told Maxie the sex was great and that she hated him more when it was over. Maxie told her a therapist would have a field day. Drew was also using Nina's connections to push a congressional run. She introduced him to Congressman McConkey, a friend of her late father's with a stage four lung cancer diagnosis who wanted to break the news through a trusted press contact. Drew turned the meeting into a pitch for federal funding for two Port Charles piers and walked out with McConkey's endorsement for his congressional seat.

At the same time, Drew was quietly arranging situations that put Willow in his orbit. He set up Crimson to run a profile on Willow and the New Tomorrow Institute, a nonprofit connecting bone marrow donors with patients, and asked Nina to sit in on Willow's first PSA practice pitch and give one piece of feedback. Nina told Willow she was a success story and it was okay to smile. Willow smiled. Nina stopped in the hallway afterward and exhaled.

Willow left her nursing job to spend more time with her children and do the spokesperson work full-time. She started dropping by Crimson with scripts that needed work. Nina gave notes. They sat at Metro Court and went over the copy and started to laugh. At the pool one afternoon, Wiley spotted Nina from the water and ran up the steps to hug her. Willow watched from the shallow end and smiled. She told Michael later that Nina had stopped pushing for more than Willow was ready to give and that it was a relief not to have to keep throwing up walls. She said she was not forgiving Nina. She was ready to move on.

Then came July 4 at the Quartermaine estate. Willow and Drew kissed during the fireworks. Sasha saw it and walked away without saying anything.

The next morning, Willow came to Nina's office and said she had done something terrible and there was nobody she could tell except her mother. She told Nina about the kiss. Nina kept her face steady, told Willow she was being too hard on herself, told her not to tell Michael, and called Drew the moment Willow left. When he arrived, she slapped him hard across the face.

It happened again in August. And again, the night John Cates was killed in Port Charles. By the time Cody Bell punched Drew at the Brown Dog dive bar in October and announced loudly to the room what had been going on, the circle of people who knew had grown well past anyone's control. A private investigator Ned had hired filmed the whole thing on her phone. The morning after the bar fight, Sasha woke up in a Metro Court hotel room with Michael. During their conversation, she accidentally mentioned the second kiss. Michael said nothing to Willow. Willow said nothing to Michael. They went home to the gatehouse and held their secrets.

The Christmas party is where it ended. Tracy accidentally put the playroom nanny cam footage on the television, and the whole Quartermaine family watched. The custody battle started the next morning.

What followed was a custody battle that included a staged drugging with ketamine, a hired woman named Jacinda, and bar footage of Drew doing body shots at the Savoy that Lulu filmed for the Invader. Willow came home the next morning and found Jacinda in Drew's shirt in his bedroom. Drew told her he did not know what had happened. She ran out. He was tested, ketamine was confirmed in his system, and Willow believed him. Nina and Portia Robinson had been behind it. Drew figured that out eventually and suddenly had leverage over both of them.

The trial came next. Drew took the stand and completely fell apart, screaming that he was a patriot while a million dollar wire transfer to the custody judge sat in evidence. Willow took the stand after him, calm and composed, and the jury came back not guilty. Then there was a wedding that stopped mid-ceremony when Willow asked Drew directly in front of the room whether he had slept with her mother. He admitted it. Nina stepped in front of him to block him from following Willow out and told him the one good thing that had come out of the day was that Willow would never forgive him. A second wedding followed. Another acquittal. And then the night Willow came home after the verdict, poured champagne, and waited for Drew to turn around.

By June 2026, Willow is Congresswoman Willow Cain. She has her children back. She has Drew conscious and aware and unable to move in a wheelchair in a house she shares with him, kept that way on purpose since the night of the acquittal. Nina knows all of it. She knows about the shooting, the drugs, Sidwell, and what he wants from Willow's congressional seat, and the two witnesses who were hiding in the bedroom the night it happened. She told Willow she would have helped anyway, without being blackmailed into it. Willow had made sure she had no choice, regardless.
