Brennan's Last Night at the Metro Court
Ava agreed to keep Jack Brennan occupied at the Metro Court pool while Drew searched Brennan's hotel room for evidence tied to money Drew had embezzled from the McConkey Esplanade project. Drew gave Ava a sleeping pill to slip into Brennan's drink to buy himself time. Ava dropped the pill in, and Brennan finished the drink while she steered the conversation toward Nina and Willow.
Brennan told Ava he needed to take a call and left the table. By the time he reached the elevator, the pill had hit him hard. He never made it back to his room.
Drew, meanwhile, had used a virus on a thumb drive from Martin Grey to knock out the Metro Court's security system by way of Carly's office computer, giving himself a window to search Brennan's suite undetected.
Ava and Drew's Cover-Up
Ava went to find Drew in Brennan's room to warn him the pill hadn't worked fast enough and Brennan could be back any minute. The two of them headed to the pool deck and found Brennan's body floating in the water.
Ava didn't want to leave him there. She reminded Drew that people had already seen her with Brennan at the Metro Court Gardens earlier that night, which meant any investigation into his death would point back to her, and by extension, Drew. The two of them moved the body onto a laundry cart, wheeled it out through a service hallway to a garage-level elevator, and drove it to a stretch of protected land near the Quartermaine estate, land Monica had donated to the city years earlier during a zoning dispute. They buried him there with a moment of silence before covering the grave.
Danny, Charlotte, and the Discovery in the Pool
Danny and Charlotte had already had an eventful night before any of that. The two of them had taken Chase's truck without asking and dented it against a gate post. They tried to get into Drew's office themselves, but the door used a keycard lock, not something they could pick, and when they heard Carly and Valentin coming down the hall, they gave up on the idea and went up to the Metro Court's closed pool instead for one last swim of the summer.
Charlotte found Brennan's body while she was swimming. Danny didn't call for help, worried that Drew would use it against him if he got tied to a dead body found at the hotel. The two of them fled. In the panic, Charlotte lost the bracelet with her initial on it, which later turned up caught on Brennan's cufflink.
The Truck Comes Back to Bite Them
Later in the week, Charlotte and Danny ended up at the Quartermaine boathouse, where Chase was dog-sitting Outback for Cody while Cody was away with Molly at a romance novel convention. Chase confronted them about the truck, and Danny admitted he'd taken it. Chase also asked about the damage to Brook Lynn's car; Danny denied having anything to do with that one.
Danny came clean to Jason about the truck as well, telling him that driving fast is when everything feels clear and focused, the same thing his mother had once told him. Jason banned Danny from driving for six months, required him to pay for the truck repairs himself using a bike, the bus, or rideshares paid for out of his own pocket, and told him he'd be working off the debt. Danny apologized to Charlotte for putting her in danger that night; she told him she didn't regret being there.
Jason also apologized to Valentin for Danny pulling Charlotte into the whole mess. Valentin pushed back on that, telling Jason that Charlotte wasn't some innocent bystander. She'd been a willing participant who could have made a different choice herself, and he didn't think Danny should be carrying all the blame alone. He also said he hoped the two of them wouldn't be kept apart as part of the punishment. Jason told him that hadn't even occurred to him, which put Carly at ease.
Carly, Valentin, and the Search for Dirt on Drew
Carly and Valentin spent part of the week breaking into Drew's office looking for anything they could use against him, hoping to protect Sonny, Jason, and Michael. When the Metro Court's security system went down, Carly called Jason in to help, and the two of them traced the shutdown to a virus rather than a routine glitch. That's when they discovered Brennan's hotel room had been searched. Jason initially suspected Valentin, but Carly cleared him, since he'd been with her the entire time.
Josslyn Runs Into Carly and Valentin
Josslyn arrived at the Metro Court expecting a debrief with Brennan and instead found Carly and Valentin already in his room, having discovered it had been searched. Carly questioned why Josslyn was even there, since she'd told her she'd left the WSB. Valentin encouraged Josslyn to call in Brennan's disappearance.
Agent Baines
Josslyn's report brought a new agent to Port Charles: William Baines. Baines suggested Brennan might have staged his own disappearance after his failed mission on Spoon Island. Josslyn pushed back, telling him she believed it was foul play, and mentioned that her mother had witnessed Brennan in a loud public argument days earlier. Baines pulled a file photo of Nina Reeves in response.
Willow and Britt at the Bar
Willow sat down next to Britt at the Metro Court bar, framing it as a chance to talk to her cousin. She opened up about still having feelings for Chase and wondering whether she'd made a mistake not staying with him. Britt found herself in familiar territory, bringing up her own history of watching Patrick end up with Sabrina and then Robin and wondering the same thing about her own happy ending, before noting that she's found real peace with Jason now.
Britt and Lucas
In a separate conversation later in the week, Lucas met up with Britt on his own and told her about moving into his own apartment and the situation with his new roommate, Joe Fitzpatrick. He left when he spotted Ava and Drew coming in, and asked Ava why she hadn't shown up; Drew told him they'd gotten stuck on a work project.
Rocco and Scout
Rocco stopped by Sonny's to pick up a lasagna for the Quartermaine barbecue. While he was there, Scout spent time talking with Alexis, and Sonny and Rocco talked as well. After they left, Rocco and Scout ended up at the boathouse together, where they talked about how tough their summers had been and how glad they were to have had each other to lean on, and shared a kiss.
Anna, Valentin, Jason, and Britt
Valentin spent time at the shooting range with Anna, who has grown increasingly fixated on Faison's children. He later told Jason that Anna seemed to be spiraling on the subject. Jason went to check on Anna at the hospital, but she left abruptly after a phone call, asking Britt to meet her at Mount Emerson and giving her directions to avoid parade traffic. When Britt arrived, Anna pointed a gun at her. Jason, in the meantime, had called Sonny, who confirmed Anna had been quietly trying to buy a piece of property in that same area.
Ric, Elizabeth, Isaiah, and Portia
Isaiah invited Ric and Elizabeth to dinner with him and Portia, meant partly as a distraction for Portia while Trina performed at the Cat's Eye Lounge. Over dinner, the group learned that Corinthos Coffee won the office softball series this year.
Trina and Gio's Debut
Trina and Gio gave their first performance under their new recording contract at the Cat's Eye Lounge, hosted by Simon Kraft. Quinn showed up to support them, telling Kai he regretted how hard he'd come down on Trina after Kai's injury. Gio surprised Emma afterward with a trip to Montreal to make up for a camping trip they'd had to cancel.
Sonny, Drew, and Pier 55
Before leaving Port Charles for a temporary trip, Mayor Laura Collins tried to get Sonny and Drew to agree to a ceasefire, asking Drew to bow out of the upcoming Pier 55 auction so Sonny could reclaim the property. Drew refused, telling Sonny nothing he does is ever legitimate. Sonny promised Laura he wouldn't let the feud pull him back into his old life.
Curtis and Sidwell, Cellmates
Curtis found out his new cellmate at Pentonville is Jenz Sidwell. Sidwell told Curtis that fear of what could happen to his son was what landed him in jail, drawing a comparison to his own grief-driven actions after losing his son. He also pointed out that the two of them are both targets in Pentonville for different reasons, and that they need to look out for each other to stay safe. Curtis wasn't having it.
Chase and Joe Compare Notes
Chase and Joe discussed their shared doubts about how Lucy's timeline lined up in the investigation into Curtis and Jordan's car accident. Chase later confronted Lucy directly at the Quartermaine barbecue about her statement to the PCPD, then went to Brook Lynn. Trina overheard the conversation and confronted Brook Lynn directly, asking if she was the one who left Curtis and Jordan at the scene.
Quick Notes
Ava discovered a tick bite this week during a conversation with Nina, later identified as a Lone Star tick, a species that hasn't previously turned up in Port Charles.
Tracy told Jordan it was smart of Michael to keep Drew close at Aurora rather than push him out, and asked Jordan to help keep an eye on Drew, since she believes he'll turn on Michael the moment he gets the chance.
Port Charles Pipeline
Cheri wrote in about a conversation between Dante and Lulu, discussing whether to give Rocco more space. Both of them talked about how their own parents took a hands-off approach with them: Dante brought up his mother trusting him to make his own mistakes, and Lulu said her father took the same approach with her. Cheri pointed out the irony, since that same freedom is what led each of them to become a parent as a teenager themselves.

Reality Check
Quick note before this one: Amanda recorded this entire episode live from the road on her way to a Cedar Point trip, staying on for the whole conversation, but her audio actually cut out about seventeen minutes in. Shannon didn't discover this until sitting down to edit, by which time it was too late to redo any of it, so part of this week's post was pieced together from a one-sided transcript. If it reads a little differently than usual, that's why.
Amanda spent the week getting ready for that trip, using discounted tickets through her brother's company. A test for work she'd been nervous about went well.
Shannon juggled a full week of work, including several closings, and shared that she's starting treatment for perimenopause after noticing more frequent moments of losing her train of thought. She encouraged listeners to keep pushing if their doctor isn't listening to them, since it took her some time to find a provider who took her concerns seriously.
